My Journey with WordPress
Portfolio & Blog
Timeline: July 2026
To make room for a dedicated blog and scale my personal brand, I decided to migrate my portfolio site over from its original Vue.js setup to WordPress. I wanted complete design control without relying on heavy premium add-ons and themes, so I used this migration to dive deep into custom WordPress development.
Using Elementor and ElementsKit for the layout with the Hello Elementor theme, I integrated Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to handle dynamic content fields smoothly. To bypass the need for Elementor Pro, I used the Code Snippets plugin to write my own custom PHP classes. This let me build my own custom Elementor widgets from scratch, giving me all the advanced functionality I needed while keeping the backend clean and lightweight.
Tech Stack: WordPress, Elementor Core, ElementsKit, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), Code Snippets (Custom PHP/HTML)
